Comply with the spirit, as well as the letter, of the law. Operate a staff training policy.

Comply with the scheme's Customer Complaints procedure.

Comply with the scheme's Code of Practice in relation to the following aspects of their business.

Ensure no unauthorized work is carried out.

Give a VAT inclusive estimate before work starts - a firm quotation will be given wherever possible. Customer's permissions will be obtained if the cost is to be exceeded.

Treat vehicle with adequate care and use protective covers as appropriate.

Make replaced parts available to the customer except for Warranty claims or where they are returned to supplier.

Not use second-hand parts.

Issue fully itemized invoices.

Ensure all work is checked for safety

Used Car Traders agree to:

Ensure all advertising does not mislead.

Issue a clear written contract with all extras separately itemized.

Ensure all descriptions are correct.

Ensure mileage readings are correct or disclaimed.

Ensure cars are roadworthy before supply and for test-drives.

Ensure price indications and credit advertisements are not misleading.

Make available any information relating to the history, status or condition of the vehicle.
